The Collection
Four designs, one standard of craftsmanship.
Every design below is built around the same principal dresser size — approximately 1,600mm wide, 450mm deep, and around 900mm high to the worktop — in traditional in-frame Shaker construction, painted to order. Dimensions can be adapted for your space where appropriate.
The Classic Dresser
A simpler base dresser without drawers — four traditional in-frame Shaker cupboard doors on a full plinth, in the purest expression of the Cambridge Bespoke Shaker kitchen dresser.
The Drawer Dresser
Four flat-front drawers with solid oak dovetail drawer boxes, over four in-frame Shaker cupboard doors. Our first prototype, and one of the principal pieces in the collection.
The French Dresser
A traditional open French kitchen dresser, with a cornice, grooved panelled back and adjustable shelving on a sawtooth system, built above our Shaker base cabinetry.
The Glazed Dresser
The most substantial piece in the collection: a glazed kitchen dresser with in-frame glazed Shaker doors, full cornice and side panels, over our Shaker base cabinetry.
All prices include VAT. Delivery and installation are included within our standard delivery area — projects further afield can be quoted individually.
One of the principal designs
The Drawer Dresser
Currently in production as our first Cambridge Bespoke prototype, the Drawer Dresser pairs four flat-front drawers with four in-frame Shaker cupboard doors beneath — a handmade kitchen dresser built for everyday use as much as its proportions.
The drawer boxes are solid oak with traditional dovetail joints, running smoothly on quality runners, with solid brass hardware and a full traditional plinth to the floor.

The simplest expression of the collection
The Classic Dresser
Where a household wants the character of a handmade painted kitchen dresser without drawers, the Classic Dresser offers four traditional in-frame Shaker cupboard doors on a full plinth — the same construction and materials as the rest of the collection, reduced to its simplest, most considered form.
- Approx. 1,600mm wide, 450mm deep
- Four traditional in-frame Shaker cupboard doors
- Painted cabinetry · solid brass hardware
- Full plinth to floor
- Choice of solid oak or honed Carrara marble top

Worktop materials
Solid oak or honed Carrara marble.
Solid Oak
Warm, tactile solid timber that develops its own character with age and daily use. Every top is full-stave solid oak, not narrow-block or laminated worktop, and is included as standard across the collection.
Honed Carrara Marble
Natural Italian Carrara marble, finished with a soft honed surface rather than a high polish, for a quieter, more tactile luxury.
As a natural material, colour, veining and markings vary from piece to piece — part of what makes each top genuinely individual.
Open, traditional, English
The French Dresser
A traditional open French kitchen dresser, built above our Shaker base cabinetry. A central vertical divider creates two display sections, each backed with a traditional grooved and panelled back, and fitted with three adjustable shelves on a sawtooth system.
Finished with a proper cornice and full side panels, in true English furniture proportions, and painted to match the cabinetry beneath.
- Open upper dresser, approx. 300mm deep
- Central divider · two sections of approx. 800mm
- Three adjustable shelves, traditional sawtooth system
- Grooved panelled back · cornice · full side panels
- Shaker base cabinetry · solid oak or honed Carrara marble top

The most substantial piece in the collection
The Glazed Dresser
The Glazed Dresser retains the character and proportions of the French Dresser but replaces the open shelving with glazed Shaker doors in-frame — a glazed kitchen dresser for displaying glassware, china or collections behind glass, with adjustable shelving within.
Built with the same cornice, full side panels and panelled back as the French Dresser, in handmade painted cabinetry with traditional brass hardware throughout.
- In-frame construction · glazed Shaker doors
- Traditional brass hardware · adjustable shelving
- Panelled/grooved back · proper cornice · full side panels
- Handmade painted cabinetry throughout

Interior finish is agreed with you as part of the design process — let us know what the piece needs to hold, and we'll advise what suits it best.
Made in Cambridge
A handmade kitchen dresser, built to stay.
Every Cambridge Bespoke dresser is made individually in our workshop near Cambridge, rather than assembled from mass-produced parts. Frames and doors are carefully proportioned and built in traditional in-frame construction, in the Shaker tradition, with solid timber detailing throughout.
Drawer boxes, where fitted, are solid oak with traditional dovetail joints. Cabinetry is hand-painted to your chosen colour, and finished with solid brass hardware. The result is a piece intended to become a permanent, well-used part of the home — not a piece of flat-pack kitchen furniture.
