Handmade in Cambridge, England
The Cambridge Larder
A freestanding English larder, individually made with traditional in-frame construction, solid tulipwood doors and face frames, dovetailed oak drawers and a place for everything a well-run kitchen needs close at hand.
Founding Edition from £7,500 inc. VAT — the first three commissions only

The idea
You don't have to commission a kitchen to own a piece of one.
Most people who want a Cambridge Larder don't want a new kitchen. What they want is the one piece a bespoke kitchen maker would build for them anyway. We build it as its own commission, using the same in-frame construction, solid timber and finished paintwork as a full Cambridge Bespoke kitchen, so it stands in a room as a piece of furniture made for that home, not a fitted unit that happens to be freestanding.
See how it's builtThe Founding Edition
An introductory opportunity, not a sale.
The Cambridge Larder is offered at its founding price for the first three commissions we take, as the introductory price for a piece we intend to build for years to come. It is not a discount. It is the price of being among the first to own one.
The Cambridge Larder
Approx. 1,100 × 600 × 2,100mm (W×D×H)
All prices inc. VAT. Natural Oak Interior adds £1,500 to either edition. White-glove delivery and installation included.
The Grand Cambridge Larder
Approx. 1,600–2,000mm wide · twin or triple-column
All prices inc. VAT. Height and depth confirmed at commission. White-glove delivery and installation included.
A 50% deposit commissions the piece, with the balance due before delivery. Unusual access, remote locations or exceptional delivery requirements may be quoted separately; we'll always confirm this with you before your commission is placed.
Construction
Made on the bench, not on a production line.
Every Cambridge Larder is built and finished in our workshop near Cambridge, using the same traditional in-frame joinery as our kitchens. Nothing about it is mass-produced: each piece is set out, built and finished individually, to order.
In-frame construction
Solid tulipwood doors and face frames, built in the traditional English manner rather than overlaid on a carcass.
Face frame & reveals
An approx. 36 × 25mm solid tulipwood face frame, with fine, consistent reveals of around 2mm around every door.
Solid oak dovetailed drawers
Cut and hand-fitted, running on concealed Blum Movento soft-close runners.
Adjustable pantry shelving
Zig-zag adjustable shelving in oak, so the interior can be reconfigured as your storage needs change.
Traditional hinges & catches
Solid brass butt hinges and magnetic catches, fitted the way a bespoke kitchen door is fitted.
Automatic interior lighting
Warm LED lighting activates automatically when the doors are opened.
Painted finish
Carefully prepared and finished in multiple coats in your chosen Farrow & Ball colour.
Individually made
Every Cambridge Larder is made and finished to order in our workshop near Cambridge, not drawn from stock.
Optional: oak door-mounted racks for spices and condiments, and labelled internal drawers (Tea, Coffee, Biscuits and similar) can be specified at the time of commission.
Premium upgrade
The Natural Oak Interior.
For those who want the inside of the piece to match the ambition of the outside, the Natural Oak Interior is offered as an enhanced specification: oak-veneered panelling combined with solid oak shelving, drawers and detailing throughout. It brings the same warmth and honesty of material to the interior that solid tulipwood brings to the exterior, and adds £1,500 to The Cambridge Larder (from £15,000 on the Grand Cambridge Larder).

Every Cambridge Larder is finished in Farrow & Ball paint. You are welcome to specify any other Farrow & Ball colour if you'd prefer something outside this selection. Colours shown here are named for reference only, not reproduced as accurate on-screen swatches: screens vary, and we'd always recommend viewing an official Farrow & Ball colour card or physical paint sample against your own kitchen before a final colour is approved.
Delivery & installation
Delivered, positioned and finished. Not flat-packed.
White-glove delivery and installation is included in the Founding Edition price, not sold as an add-on. Your Cambridge Larder arrives built, is carried into your home, carefully positioned, levelled and installed by the people who made it.
Unusual access, remote locations or exceptional delivery requirements may be quoted separately; we'll always confirm this with you before your commission is placed.

The Grand Cambridge Larder.
Where a kitchen calls for something more substantial, the Grand Cambridge Larder extends the same construction and materials across a wider, twin or triple-column piece, approximately 1,600–2,000mm wide, with the Natural Oak Interior available as an upgrade.
